Utica ABSN NCLEX Pass Rate

As a Utica College graduate, you’ll have been taught nursing concepts that are applicable in all types of situations. Your clinicals will provide diverse foundational experiences that will help prepare you to take the NCLEX.

As an accredited college, we demonstrate our due diligence in providing a quality education to all of our students. This heedfulness also applies to our CCNE-accredited accelerated nursing program. We continually teach our nursing students with the NCLEX-RN in mind.

For 2019, Utica College’s ABSN NCLEX-RN first-time pass rate for Syracuse was 89%.

Preparing for the NCLEX

The NCLEX evaluates how well you analyze and apply your nursing knowledge in different clinical scenarios. While our ABSN curriculum focuses on those critical thinking skills that are required for nurse licensure, we use Kaplan testing throughout the program to familiarize you with the exam’s complex multiple-choice questions. You’ll also spend your final days in the program focused on NCLEX preparation.

Given the diversity of the nursing profession, there will most likely be questions on the NCLEX that reference topics you didn’t cover in class. But don’t worry—you still have the means to answer these questions correctly.

About the NCLEX Exam

Every nursing school graduate, no matter the state in which they reside, must take and pass the NCLEX-RN exam before being able to join the nursing workforce as a registered nurse (RN). Administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc., the NCLEX helps to ensure nursing school graduates have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe, effective nursing care at the entry level.

The NCLEX-RN covers the below topics and includes anywhere from 75 to 265 questions.

  • Physiological Integrity
  • Safe and Effective Care Environment
  • Psychosocial Integrity
  • Health Promotion and Maintenance

Taking place on a computer at a designated test center, the NCLEX-RN has a time limit of six hours, with the majority of its questions in a multiple-choice format. You can also visit the National Council of State Boards of Nursing website to learn what to expect before, during, and after the exam.
