ABSN Clinicals at Local Healthcare Facilities

As part of our in-person practicum, your clinical rotations will begin during the first semester of the UticaABSN program, and you can expect to receive unprecedented real-world experiences throughout nursing school.

Because accelerated nursing clinicals are an important experiential learning process, your focus will be on how to deliver safe, ethical, and competent patient care in a wide variety of areas, including:

  • Adult Health
  • Pediatrics
  • Acute Care
  • Mental Health
  • Community Health
  • Health Promotion

Clinical Rotations Explained

Clinical rotations allow you to apply your nursing theory knowledge and clinical skills in the real world. Under the supervision of a licensed preceptor or clinical instructor, you will assist in delivering safe, competent patient care in a variety of medical settings. Your preceptor or clinical instructor will teach you how to think and act like a professional nurse as well as grade you on your performance during clinicals. While the length and location of your clinical rotations will vary, you can expect to complete 588 hours of clinical practice during your 16 months in nursing school.

“I love clinicals, it’s my favorite part of the program.”
Kristin K., ABSN student
