Admission Requirements for UticaABSN Programs

“My admissions representative made it so easy.” – Sarah B., Utica College ABSN Student

Our admission representatives can answer any of your questions, help determine your eligibility for the UticaABSN program, and assist you with pinpointing any prerequisite courses you may need. Once you have satisfied the admission requirements and are ready to apply to the program, your admission representative will also guide you step-by-step through the pre-enrollment process.

ABSN Academic Background and Requirements

Students who meet the minimum requirements below will be considered for admission to the ABSN program. Only credit from regionally accredited institutions will be accepted by Utica College.

Eligible applicants for the UticaABSN program must have one of the following academic backgrounds:

  1. A non-nursing bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  2. A conferred associate degree from a regionally accredited institution
  3. A total of 65 credits from a regionally accredited college or university (at least 57 of these credits must be from a 4-year regionally accredited college or university)

AND satisfy the following academic requirements:

  • Have a minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale in the last 65 credit hours attempted.
  • Grade of ‘C’ or better in General Prerequisites
  • Grade of B- or better in Natural Science Prerequisite courses.

Science prerequisites must be current, meaning they were taken within 10 years from date of application.

Degrees Obtained Outside the United States

If you obtained your non-nursing bachelor’s degree from a college or university that is located outside of the United States, you may still qualify for our ABSN program. Please contact our admissions team at 866.890.9340 to find out.

Please be aware that while we can perform an initial review of your qualifications using your foreign transcript evaluation and other documentation, a course-by-course degree evaluation from the World Education Services is the only way for us to officially determine your eligibility.
